NC380T PCI-E Dual Port Multifunction Gigabit Server Adapter...The NC380T PCI Express Dual Port Multifunction Gigabit network adapter enables ProLiant customers to save slots, optimize server performance, improve network communications, increase flexibility, and simplify their IT infrastructure. As a TOE device, the NC380T shifts processing of the communications protocol stack (TCP/IP) from the server CPU to the network adapter (also known as a NIC), thereby freeing CPU cycles for other duties. With TOE, network communications are improved, and server efficiency is increased. As an iSCSI HBA, the NC380T combines two well-known technologies, SCSI and Ethernet, to give HP ProLiant servers ready access to storage boxes over the same wire used for networking. Accelerated iSCSI gives the NC380T block storage access over TCP/IP. iSCSI enables the NC380T to function as both a NIC and an HBA.

In addition to its multifunction capabilities, the NC380T ships with all the advanced server features that ProLiant customers have come to expect, such as support for failover and load balancing, Pre-Boot Execution Environment (PXE), large send offload capability, multiple VLAN tagging, and auto-negotiated 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet speeds.
