No, I would not recommend this to a friend
This drive need to include software to run it so you can use it. I had to download software and this should NOT be neccessary. the Nero that comes with it includes commercials - YES you pay for the product and on top of it receive commercials to waste more money on their no good software. Kinda rude to have you pay for it knowing that you have to pay more just to use the bear minimum of the product.
