I especially like the size of this unit - while it's not listed as a higher priced "portable", it is only about the size of a VHS tape box. The unit is also very quiet and operation couldn't be easier. And, don't overlook its SATA compatibility.

Very quiet drive. Having a power switch is a big plus. There's a blue light on the front that turns red when the drive is being accessed. I am using it for high-definition video files which are played by a Western Digital WDTV and it works very well for that. The A/C adaptor is in two pieces - the "wall-wart" is separate from the A/C plug. The normal-sized A/C plug connects to the wall-wart on one end and into the power outlet on the other. This arrangement is better than drives with a wall-wart that plugs directly into the wall outlet or power strip and thus takes up two spaces.

I started out using the product via USB to start transferring some projects I have currently been working on. Photoshop and Sony Acid projects along with the files used in the projects. The transfer USB is the same as any other manufacturer, extremely slow. The Esata connection was significantly faster and became my primary connection. The USB is still great for ability to connect to other machines lacking Esata connectivity.
