No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Setup was easy. Detect & Connect to wireless network without any problem. Showed conection speed as 54Mbps with 100% signal strength, but took forever to load any web page as if it was with 56K dial-up modem. Was never able to connect at 300Mbps with a Belkin N1 router as advertised. It also draws too much power. A fully charged laptop would be completely dead after less than 20 mins with this card plugged in.
