I bought a Westinghouse L2610NW. The price was much less than the Samsung and other brands. I figured, "what could go wrong with a monitor?" I hooked it up, and it worked fine for 20 minutes, then fried.
I returned it and got another one. It worked fine, except when I turned down the brightness from 100 to 75, it made a buzzing/ringing sound inside the monitor. Westinghouse customer support had me try a few things, and then told me to return this one, too.
I finally bought the Samsung Synchmaster T260. I'm not happy about paying more for the same thing, but I am happy with the monitor itself.
I had never considered buying a Westinghouse, but was lured by the low price. It's not worth it at any price.
