No, I would not recommend this to a friend
This product will use color ink even if your only printing in black & white (I believe it mixes it in to make it last longer... or just waste it). This would be fine... however once one of the color ink cartridges runs out you will have to replace it because the printer will not print at all unless all of them are full (It gets stuck on a "Insert Black, Cyan, Yellow, endless loop. and won't recognize the black cartridge being there until all are replaced). Unless you want to spend a fortune buying ink to replace colors your not using just to print in black and white, Do not buy this product! (The ink for this machine costs around $50 or more for each Cartridge)
ENDING NOTE: I suggest a Cannon or a HP.
