No, I would not recommend this to a friend
We have had this unit about 2 years, and used it daily. I cleaned it well after every use. Recently I noticed a brownish fluid under the location upon which the blade assembly was drying. It seems as though some liquid seeped into the housing and it or some rust was starting to come out. The [...] site no longer had the unit available. [...] The Villaware blender was more powerful and quieter than its replacement.
