No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I purchased this product to store documents mostly.
The ADF was a selling point and I have a another HP scanjet that I use as well. I have had problems with the ADF and have now found out that it is not repairable and just out of warranty. They would not stand behind their product even though the problems occured during the warranty period
I would not buy this product and will try to avoid HP in the future.
