When higher display bandwidth is required, the cable's Boost Mode reallocates the data lanes, enabling 120 Gbps of bandwidth in one direction (transmit) while maintaining 40 Gbps in the other (receive). This asymmetric configuration is ideal for display-intensive tasks, such as driving multiple 8K monitors or handling high-resolution video workflows, while still supporting robust data transfer capabilities. Seamless Compatibility For seamless operation between Type-C Thunderbolt-enabled devices, the Thunderbolt 5 Cable is Thunderbolt-Certified for guaranteed Thunderbolt 5 performance and backward compatibility. Certified cables provide consistent, reliable performance across multiple resolutions, refresh rates, and resource-intensive applications.
